Sailing Waters

The Isle of Man is located in the Irish sea around 40 miles from the British mainland. It is 13 miles wide and 33 miles long and has an area of 227 square miles. You can fly to the Isle of Man from various locations in the UK & ireland, or alterantively you can travel by ferry from Heysham or Liverpool.

The Manx Model Boat Club currently uses 3 main sailing venues around the Isle of Man. In the North we use Mooragh Lake in Ramsey and also have use of the private lake at Milntown House. In the Douglas and Onchan area we use Onchan Park Boating Lake which is maintained by Onchan Commissioners, and in the South of the island we use the lake at Silverdale Glen.
